To start editing the Catalog, you must select an item in the list with the mouse and click the Edit button on the command panel or double-click on the item itself.
The functionality of Default Catalogs (standard) like Contracts, Partners, Product, Projects, Individuals…can is expanded by adding Custom Fields.
To configure additional fields of the Default Catalogs, click the Add button in the Catalogs template Constructor list. A submenu appears with two points: Add new and Configure standard. You must select Configure Default Catalogs.
To start editing the Custom Catalog, you must select an item in the list and click the Edit button on the command panel or double-click on the item itself.
Catalog template form has two tabs: Main and Structure.
The Main tab has:
- Title – The title of the Catalog.
- Name – The name of the Catalog to access in data source expressions.
- List Title – The title of the Catalog list.
- Commentary – Free text information.
On the Structure tab on the left is a list of additional fields in the Catalog. And on the right is the properties panel of the selected field
The Properties panel contains the following fields:
- Title – The name of the optional field.
- Name – The name of the field. It is generated automatically after entering the title. If necessary, can be edited manually.
- Type – Type of the field. The following types are available for selection: Number, String, Date, Other Catalogs.
- Tooltip – Tooltip for an additional field of the Catalog.
- Digits – The number of decimal places. Available for fields of type Number.
- Line Length – The maximum line length. Available for fields of type String. If zero-length is specified, the string will be unlimited. Using unlimited lines can lead to performance degradation. It is preferable to use lines of limited length.
- Required. If the flag is set, then Catalog entries with an empty value in this field will not be written.
Note. If there are already items in the Catalog, then some of the column properties (Name, Type, Bit depth, Line length) will be blocked. To change these properties, you must clear the Catalog.
Create a Custom field
To Add a Catalog’s field, on the Structure tab, click on the Add button. A new item will be added to the end of the list box. It is necessary to set the Title of the new field in the properties panel. The name will be generated automatically. Next, indicate the type of the new field. If necessary, make other settings available in the properties panel.
The added field is highlighted in italics in the list. The field in the Catalog will be created only after clicking Save or Save & Close button. In this case, the field will no longer appear in italics. If necessary, the field can be edited or deleted.
Edit Custom field
To Edit the Catalog’s field, select the required field on the Structure tab and edit the properties in the properties panel. After changing the field will be in italics. Changes will be applied only after Save the settings item.
If you made a mistake and do not want to record the changes made, simply return to the list of directories by clicking the Back button in the command panel. Or reload the current browser page (F5 shortcut).
Delete Custom field
To Delete a Catalog’s field, select the required field on the Structure tab and click the Delete button located above the column list. After clicking on the Delete button, the field will be crossed out. If you click Delete again, deleting this field will be canceled. The field will be deleted from the directory when writing the settings item.
Important! The deleted field cannot be restored. All data stored in the deleted field will be lost and cannot be restored.
